Problems with swallowing. Trouble swallowing is perhaps the most common symptom of esophageal cancer. Termed dysphagia, such a symptom often involves the feeling of having food stuck in the chest or throat,

Pain in the chest. Another indicator of esophageal cancer can sometimes be chest pain – the feeling of burning or pressure in the chest.

Other symptoms. These can include anything from chronic cough, hoarseness, hiccups, vomiting, weight loss and blood in the esophagus.
